About Me:
I qualified as a UKCP accredited psychotherapist in 2021, with a Masters in Gestalt Psychotherapy. I also teach on the Gestalt Masters course at a leading London psychotherapy training institute.
Previously to this, I was a comedy performer, and co-founder of Angel Comedy Club. I continue to lead teams in the comedy industry, and work closely with creative professionals.
I'm a mum of two, happily wrestling with the challenges of modern parenting, and grateful to have a partner who is far better at cooking than I am (except for scrambled eggs).
How I got here:
My twenties were a mixed bag. After receiving my BA in English Literature, I had lots of fun dating, performing comedy and travelling around. But there was also heartbreak, rubbish jobs, and regular periods of depression and low-motivation.
I prized my cognition above all else - and then became frustrated that I couldn't rationalise myself out of how I was feeling.
My curiosity led me to exploring different types of psychotherapy, eventually embarking on a Masters in Gestalt therapy (on the very course where I now teach!).
By gaining a deeper understanding of myself, I was able to recognise and express my needs, and become more present in day-to-day-life. I began to listen to parts of myself that I had previously dismissed as 'irrational'. My body. My feelings. And even - despite considering myself an atheist - my spirit. I joined a weekly Shamanic circle and spent some time in Peru, enhancing my connection to the world around me.
Today I enjoy using my experience and education to sit alongside others as they embark upon their own journey of self discovery and healing.
